    We’re excited to bring to the UK market, and the British public, the SoDelishUs brand. This exciting news comes from the founders of award-winning food development company, The Healthy Food Development Ltd, a family-run business who are advocates of healthy food without compromising on the taste.

    More and more UK consumers are demanding healthier foods with lower carbs, less sugar and high protein content. Many are looking for Vegan products. And yet it is hard to find some traditional, everyday food – like bread and cakes – that is also healthy.

    This is what SoDelishUs brings to the UK market: plant-based, vegan, high protein, low carb and low sugar foods, many of them in mixes that are simple to prepare, and all delivered to your door.

    The founders, Balazs and Reka who live in Kent, are advocates of good food, good health and good living without it being boring - and so, SoDelishUs was born. Being in the food and drink industry for over 15 years, their experience in all areas of food manufacturing and retail, puts them at the forefront of their industry.

    Dedicated to providing the best quality food manufacturing, they have specialist factories who experiment with new food blends and mixes to ensure the newest, healthier options are provided to the customer. This is all thanks to their exclusive in-house research and development team. These food mixes are all manufactured with the goal of bringing them to families as a ready, retail product.

    Our foods have been considered for all eaters without the taste being jeopardised. Balazs and Reka are proud to bring these foods to your doorstep for you to enjoy, just as they do everyday with their two boys.     Balazs and Reka’s experience in the food and drink industry, from manufacturing to retail from both a B2B and B2C aspect, brings excitement and quality to SoDelishUs. Reka tells her story of how her and Balazs came to create SoDelishUs below.

  • Reka’s Story

    In 2004 Reka was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, a long-term condition where the gut becomes inflamed. She understands first-hand the importance of diet and nutrition to lifestyle. In her own words, Reka shares her views on health and wellbeing, and why SoDelishUs is so important.

    “I was diagnosed in 2004 with Crohn’s disease but I’ve had stomach problems since I was young. I was always very sensitive to what I ate and knew which foods caused problems for me. I was very poorly when I was nineteen and in my early twenties. It is not easy to diagnose Crohn’s disease, as symptoms can vary and the exact cause is still unknown. When I was eventually diagnosed I was so ill and weak after many years of unsuccessful consultations with doctors. Every winter for three years I was taken to hospital for weeks to get infusions to build up my immune system. The doctors said the only way my disease would be manageable was if I took steroids regularly.

    That was the point when my family and I said no. Surely, there was another way? I didn’t want to take steroids. Thanks to my Dad, who was a food scientist and food research engineer, I began to learn about healthy eating. Specifically, the importance of which macro and micro elements are essential for me. I started to get better and better. These experiences gave me the inspiration to learn more about food, health and wellbeing. I became a qualified nutritional adviser.

    Thanks to my Dad’s background he created a great research and development team who started working on our projects - testing new lines of healthy ingredients and alternatives for healthy food retail products. That’s how our food business started.

    Getting the right ingredients proved difficult. In many areas there were no healthy options available at all, so in 2010 Balazs and I made the decision to create our own food blending factory to be able to create the best tailor-made healthy ingredients and supply them to food manufacturers for use in their own healthier products. For us this was not just a business, it was vital for my health, my wellbeing, my life and that of my family.

    In the last 10 years our group of companies has become known internationally and now we are proud to be bringing SoDelishUs to the UK.

    When we moved here, I was shocked to find there was no range of low carb, low sugar, high protein products on the supermarket shelves (although low fat and gluten free products were). Crohn’s disease is complex, and there are many limitations on what you can and can’t eat. SoDelishUs is the answer to this gap and brings healthier foods to all families, myself and my family included.”
